Sun Print Alphabet
Each letter and number of this poster was created through the Cyanotype print process. I focused on one character a day for 36 consecutive days, experimenting with different materials, exposure times and techniques. The studies were then edited into a final collection and arranged to create a Sun Print Alphabet! The poster includes a list of the inspiration or material used to create each character.
Each poster is a museum quality giclée print on hot press bright archival paper. This hot press archival paper is an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a smooth matte finish and a 96% ISO brightness rating.

What is giclée printing?
Giclée printing, pronounced "zhee-clay," represents a sophisticated printing method that sets the benchmark for quality. Unlike the basic digital printers commonly found in retail stores, Giclée printers harness advanced technology to craft prints that are exceptionally detailed, exhibit extraordinary color precision, and are built to endure. The precision and attention to detail in Giclée printing ensures that the prints genuinely capture the essence of the original artwork.
One key element setting Giclée prints apart is the use of archival-quality inks and materials. These inks are formulated to resist fading, retaining their vibrancy over decades, ensuring your prints remain as vivid as their initial creation. However, it's not solely about endurance; it's also about faithfully representing the original artwork.
Most common printers are typically confined to the CMYK color model, employing just four ink colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black) to recreate a broad range of colors. Giclée, conversely, can print in the RGB color model, closely mirroring the color spectrum perceivable by our eyes. This means that Giclée printing can capture a wider array of colors, bringing your prints much closer to the original image in terms of color precision.
